Ms. Gonzalez joined The NHP Foundation in 2020 with 20 years of experience managing complex multifamily, mixed finance redevelopments for public housing authorities, municipalities, and private affordable housing developers. Her diverse set of real estate skills developed from working in all aspects of development enables her to collaborate on project strategy, vet acquisitions, drive recapitalizations and direct community development investments. Ms. Gonzalez’s primary focus is on Chicago and Midwest opportunities. Her responsibilities include project conceptualization, predevelopment, deal execution and project closeout. She maintains local relationships to partner and facilitate development of affordable housing.

Implementation Planner

• Managed TIF Districts and Food & Beverage Tax funds. Oversaw interfund loans, incentive investments, capital expenditures,
and overall budget responsibilities. Negotiated with local taxing districts to successfully extend the life of Champaign’s
downtown TIF.
• Monitored revenue sharing agreements with neighboring municipality and evaluated economic development generating
investments.
• Led redevelopment of the UIUC’s Campustown Commercial Area, including Green Street Renovation. Coordinated all advanced
planning components, including transportation study, geometric/streetscape design, public facilitation, budgeting and funding
plan.
• Planned and adhered to project budget and schedule by negotiating Special Service Area district with local property owners,
managing state grants and municipal tax fund.
• Conducted media and community engagement for division projects, including event management,
charettes, and other facilitation tools.
