Konrad Schlater is a Vice President, Development Finance in POAH’s Chicago office where he leads POAH's commercial and market-rate efforts in Chicago, Detroit and other sites; and supports POAH's traditional affordable housing work. He led development efforts that include new construction of mixed-income, mixed use buildings on South Cottage Grove Avenue in the Woodlawn section of Chicago.
He worked on New Markets Tax Credits transactions for the new construction Trianon Lofts building and the transit oriented development at Woodlawn Station. He also worked on POAH's efforts to bring a new full-service grocery store to the neighborhood.
Prior to joining POAH, Konrad worked for four years as Vice President for Development at William C. Smith & Co., a Washington DC-based developer and four years as Special Assistant to the Deputy Mayor for Planning and Economic Development in Washington DC, where he worked on public-private real estate development projects, and two years as a Presidential Management Fellow at HUD.
Konrad holds a bachelor's degree from University of Wisconsin - Madison and a Master in Public Policy from Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government.
